Just arrived! Where do you find of a 4005 in Mapleglo as good as this? bass ! Ricky made around 30 in total 4005 hollow bodied Ric Basses in the four years 1965 – 1968.
Mapleglo finish is nothing short of incredible and displays only the smidgen of use. Beautiful grain in the carved maple top.
Its 2-piece maple back has some nice bubble figuring with fabulous checkerboard binding.
The fingerboard exhibits zero wear and the crushed pearl inlays are sparkling like its new.
Two “Toaster” pickups are very colourful. Single layer White pickguard is as clean as the rest including its Lucite thumb rest and 5 chrome capped knobs.
One of the best surviving example of an all original 4005 around the world. Near Mint & super rare.
The headstock houses its original white opaque plastic logo plate with black lettering, and its original set of open-back cloverleaf metal button tuners, all in perfect working order.
Original 4-saddle bridge with cover is fully functional, original Rickenbacker “R” logo tailpiece is in place, a replacement ‘claw’ end piece has been added, original white plastic pickguard with original clear plastic thumb rest, original control knobs and switch tip are in place.
Dunlop straplock buttons have been added.
