Very clean condition showing very little use. Super low action with high saddle. Plays so well. Beautiful full sound. This Gibson J-29 Is the Pickup/Volume version.

Based on Gibson’s product coding conventions for the Montana-made J-29 Rosewood series, the difference between RS29ANWH1 and RS29ANNH1 lies in the pickup system installed, which is indicated by the seventh character (W or N).
  • RS29ANWH1: The “W” denotes that this model includes an LR Baggs VTC pickup system (the “V” usually implies “Volume” controls, often in conjunction with Element).
  • RS29ANNH1: The “N” denotes a “No pickup” (or sometimes refers to a “Natural” or older active piezo configuration, but in this era, it typically means no onboard electronics) or sometimes a variant without the premium VTC system.
Key Similarities.
Both guitars are part of the same Gibson J-29 series, which is a round-shoulder dreadnought, and share the same core features:
  • Body & Top: Solid Rosewood back and sides with a solid Sitka spruce top.
  • Bracing: 1930s-style Advanced X-bracing (scalloped).
  • Neck & Fretboard: Mahogany neck with a rosewood fretboard.
  • Scale Length: Short scale 24.75″.
  • Finish: Antique Natural (AN).
Summary of Difference
  • WH1: With Pickup (LR Baggs VTC).
  • NH1: No Pickup (Acoustic only).
Note: The J-29 was produced from roughly 2014-2016. While these codes suggest the pickup difference, both models are high-quality rosewood dreadnoughts often praised for having a “beefy,” warm, and loud tone compared to traditional mahogany Gibsons.

The perfect tonewoods, body shape, and bracing for natural acoustic projectionIntroduced in 2014, the J-29 acoustic-electric guitar represents a new direction for Gibson Acoustic’s round-shoulder dreadnought body style. This inaugural J-29 model features the classic tonewood combination of a rosewood back and sides topped by Sitka spruce. The rich and full-bodied tone this produces is the basis for acoustic guitar tone in general. But that’s just the beginning. Paired with Gibson’s ’30s-style bracing and short-scale neck, the J-29 rewards you with easy playing feel and a phenomenal amount of natural acoustic projection.

Get amazing sound onstage courtesy of LR Baggs VTC electronicsThe Gibson Acoustic J-29 comes with LR Baggs’s popular VTC acoustic pickup system, a popular choice among Sweetwater’s acoustic guitarists. This system features a low-profile under-saddle transducer that’s proven more stable and durable than many standard ribbon-type pickups. Its sleek and effective design removes unnecessary internal components to enhance the coupling between the pickup and the guitar and improve the sensitivity of the transducer for a robust, lively, and natural acoustic sound with excellent dynamics and delicate high end. Combined with an onboard preamplifier with an unobtrusive and removable volume control, mounted just inside the soundhole, the VTC gives your Gibson Acoustic J-29 the amplification you need, with zero compromises for tone or convenience.
