The body measures approximately 359mm along the back, 170 across the upper bouts and 209mm across the lower bouts. The back is maple, in two pieces, well flamed with medium curl. The rib and scroll have been selected to match the back. The top is spruce with a straight grain of uneven growth.

The bow is of earlier twentieth century, English manufacture by Hill & Sons and is stamped H&S on the front facet. The stick it Pernambuco timber, cut round and lapped with nylon line. The stick is stamped ‘B’ on the underside facet. The tip lining is silver with number ‘2’ stamped on it, indicating the maker, Edgar Bishop. The frog is ebony, fully mounted in silver and a pearl eye. The letter ‘O’ and ‘B’ are stamped on the lining of the frog. The button is silver in one part.
