How rare to find a Brazilian Rosewood OM-28 in this country! This rare guitar came into Australia when it’s owner moved here.
Apologies on any light reflection in the pics, they are just that, this rare Martin is in outstanding condition.
This 2003 Martin OM-28 custom ordered guitar is an absolutely amazing example of Martin’s stellar craftsmanship. Modelled after a 1934 Martin. Constructed with beautiful Brazilian rosewood back and sides, an Adirondack top and Adirondack bracing, this guitar delivers all the tone, punch and warmth you’d expect from an Acoustic guitar of this magnitude. Rounded out with an Ebony fingerboard, bridge, mahogany neck, bone nut, Brazilian veneer, amazing Abalone & Pau Shell appointments. Amazing guitar that sounds as good as it looks!
*Brazilian rosewood (CITES I) remains listed on CITES without any exemptions. This species requires a CITES i permit from any exporting country and, requires an import permit into Australia. These permit are almost impossibe to obtain to import Brazilian Rosewood from overseas.
Finding a Brazilian Rosewood guitar post 1992 is a challenge making them a rarity. Brazilian Rosewood guitars made in the US are marked “USA only” these days.
An original OM-28 from 1929-1933 can fetch six figures.
