In Spectacular condition with micro light hairline scratches that should micro buff off. Can’t see a ding, dent or any paint loss. It’s very, very clean!
I build these walls of sound and love to tear them down.
I want to be seen in the spotlights
for real rock´n roll will never die.
The 49er is a solidbody, dual pickup, 22 fret electric guitar, featuring a solid arched top, a string-through-body tailpiece and a 647mm scale.
Following traditional tone and resonance principles, mahogany and maple are our choice woods for the 49er. The one-piece neck and body is made from premium mahogany, while the solid top is crafted from naturally grained maple, which perfectly underlines our gorgeous Honey finish.
The 49er was designed with traditional rock values in mind, however, you still get the modern features Duesenbergs are known for. The 49er is equipped with our proven pickup combination of a classicly wound GrandVintage humbucker and a creamy Domino P90 singlecoil. In the middle position of the heavy duty 3-way switch, certain low end frequencies are filtered out of the humbucker signal, allowing for a distinct and actually usable middle position tone. And it wil set you apart from all others.
All our instruments are fitted with our own hardware, which you will only find on a Duesenberg. We design it with attention to even the smallest details to create truly unique instruments from tuner buttons to jack plates.
All our fretboards are carefully pleked and finished by hand for optimum playability and the smooth feel they are famous for.
A unique feature of the 49er is the adjustable STB system, whereby the guitar strings are drawn through the body for optimal transfer of vibration. Furthermore, pressure at the bridge can be fine-tuned according to preference for each individual string.
The 49er is available in a variety of colours, as well as our tolex covered Outlaw Edition and a lefthanded version.
The 49er is a proven classic in our lineup and has had a ton of stage appearences so far.
We would be happy to make yours.

Retro-Design and Innovative Technology
The fascination of the shapes and colours in the 40’s and 50’s and the permanent search for technical innovation were the driving forces. A good balance between respectful analysis of the classic constructions and designs on the one hand, and careful improvement and optimization of the techical details are the solid base that the brand Duesenberg is seated on today.
Then and Now
1995 the first Starplayer was built in the basement of an appartment house in the south city of Hannover. Being founded by Dieter Gölsdorf as a one-man-business, the company today has around 30 employees. Several relocations were made and we’re still growing. Modern manufacturing techniques like the newest technology in CNC milling machine or the Plek fret dressing machine result in Duesenberg being a synonym around the world for best quality and workmanship.
One of the most important reasons for Duesenberg’s success is the unique design concept. It is Dieter Gölsdorf’s very own interpretation of the Art Deco style, which gives the intruments their distinctive appearance. Almost every part from the tuner knobs, the trussrod cover and the pickguard to the little switch knob ist exclusively manufactured for us, and features our trade mark: the three steps. They stand for what Duesenberg is – always THREE STEPS AHEAD!
Hidden behind the pretty facade there are numerous technical innovations, which are sometimes only discovered at second sight. The Z-Tuners allow easy and comfortable restringing. The tilt of the pickups can be adjusted by a third screw in the pickup ring, so that the surface of the pickup can be aligned with the strings. And last but not least the Duesenberg Deluxe Tremola, which is one of the best systems available on the market today.
Single coil sound withound hum – generations of engineers tried in vain to solve this problem. We did it – with our PH90 SingleTwin pickup. And another detail that musicians all over the world love is the straightforward usability of the Duesenberg instruments. It is the simple but unique pickup wiring – easy to use but offering a wide range of sounds.
There are still countless ideas and concepts in Dieter Gölsdorf’s drawer that are waiting to be made.
