Due to the low numbers made in this incredible limited edition, this is the first one we’ve had, maybe the only one we will get to play. What a phenomenal experience. An acoustic collector playing it said how good is this? We just smiled.
African Ebony – From the unofficial Taylor Forum 2013
“As someone who just bought on within the last two weeks I can tell you that these are very few and far between. There are better odds of landing a 616CE than a 614CE that is for sure. You really have to do some digging on the internet. Some providers say they are on order, those would be the Macassar versions, as the African Ebony production is gone.”
“There are only 300 of these instruments being made total, that is 150 of the 614’s and 150 of the 616’s. A combined 300 pieces. And Taylor ran out of the African ebony before completion.”
These limited guitars are just that. As Ted form LA Guitars Sales said in another thread, “this is truly one of Taylor’s most limited guitars, limited or otherwise.”

“Some of the late made 2013 spring limiteds are done in Macassar as they ran out of African ebony before the run of 300 was finished. My 616ce is Macassar and not really as nice looking as your ebony ones.”
