Authentic Period Correct Vintage ‘54 Strat details!
70 years ago it was 1954 and Leo Fender introduced a solid body electric guitar known as the Stratocaster! That pretty much changed to world of rock and roll – heck, MUSIC in general – as we know it. To celebrate the this momentous event, the Fender Custom Shop has released the Limited Edition 70th Anniversary 1954 Stratocaster model. Fender only reissues the ’54 Strat every 10 years and this exquisite Time Machine sports all the classic ’54 appointments you know and love, with some additional updates compared to the 50th and 60th Anniversary variants.
Some of the unique and authentic details of the Limited Edition 70th Anniversary 1954 Stratocaster include a lightweight 2-Piece Ash body w/Offset Seam, 1-piece quartersawn Maple neck with unique 70th Ann ’54 Strat neck profile, 7.25”-9.5” fingerboard radius (Yes, they did have this back in the 50s), Hand Wound ’54 Strat pickups, and vintage-style hardware along with period correct style plastics such as the rounded pickup covers and short skirt knobs.. The 70th Anniversary edition will be offered in the following levels of ageing: NOS, Time Capsule, DLX Closet Classic, Journeyman Relic, Relic, Heavy Relic and Super Heavy Relic.
This valuable instrument isn’t just a collector’s piece to hang on the wall (although it is certainly a very functional piece of “guitar art”) – You can actually go out and play it with comfort and ease.
