There’s not a lot of info out there!! I can tell you that they were sold through Palings in Sydney, and in Feb 1981 a C004 had an RRP of AUD$199, and the C007 of AUD$335 – that’s the equivalent in todays terms of $750 & $1300 respectively. The C007 is a typical quality Japanese instrument of the period, with solid spruce top and laminated back/sides of indian rosewood. (We believe at Black Dot, it maybe Brazilian Rosewood … sure looks that way) A nice instrument, with excellent tonality, response and volume. Curiously, there was another ‘own’ brand sold in Sydney through the former Spanish Guitar Centre, called ‘Cachimba’. The model range was of comparable quality, and used the same model numbering.
